News Date: May 24, 2023

A new, "cutting-edge" payment system for the currencies of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS countries should be established as soon as possible, according to the chairman of Russia's National Economic Development Organization VEB.RF, Igor Shuvalov.
In his remarks at a Russian-Chinese Business Forum on Tuesday in Shanghai, Shuvalov emphasized the need for Russia and China to hasten the development of an effective payment system.
"We urge the government of the Russian Federation and our Chinese partners to act as actively as possible.
An independent and efficient infrastructure of payments is necessary not only for ensuring the "ruble/yuan" pair but also for carrying out the most serious transactions in SCO and BRICS currencies," said Shuvalov.

Scientist Behind The Navy's "UFO Patents" Has Now Filed One For A Compact Fusion Reactor

It is claimed in the patent application that this plasma compression fusion device is capable of producing power in the gigawatt (1 billion watts) to terawatt (1 trillion watts) range and above with input power only in the kilowatt (1,000 watts) to megawatt (1,000,000 watts) range. By comparison, America's largest nuclear power plant, the Palo Verde nuclear power plant in Arizona, generates around 4,000 megawatts (4 gigawatts), and the A1B nuclear reactors designed for the Navy's Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers generate around 700 megawatts. The patent even claims that the device can "possibly lead to ignition plasma burn, that is self-sustained plasma burn without need for external input power."

SpaceX launched another 49 Starlink satellites

It's been a busy January! No better way to start the New Year.
SpaceX launched another batch of 49 Starlink satellites to orbit aboard a flight-proven Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center (KSC).
This was the third mission for SpaceX in 2022, as the company had already launched the Starlink Group 4-5 and Transporter-3 missions this month.
In addition, this mission marked a quick turnaround for LC-39A, as Starlink Group 4-5 also launched from the same pad on January 6.

The Golden Jubilee and the return to gold standard

On 15 August 1971, US President Richard Nixon officially announced that the country was completely abandoning the gold standard.
This meant that the US government abandoned the convertibility of US dollars into gold at a fixed rate of $35 per ounce.
The government simply could not meet the demand to exchange dollars received for goods and services for gold.
The jubilee in its original, biblical meaning when once in 50 years the sold and mortgaged lands were returned to their original owners, slaves and prisoners of war were freed, debts were forgiven, and the land rested from fieldwork.
Why not, 2022 may be the year for the return of the gold standard.

What is the Gold Standard

Gold standard, monetary system in which the standard unit of currency is a fixed quantity of gold or is kept at the value of a fixed quantity of gold. The currency is freely convertible at home or abroad into a fixed amount of gold per unit of currency.
In an international gold-standard system, gold or a currency that is convertible into gold at a fixed price is used as a medium of international payments. Under such a system, exchange rates between countries are fixed; if exchange rates rise above or fall below the fixed mint rate by more than the cost of shipping gold from one country to another, large gold inflows or outflows occur until the rates return to the official level.
President Franklin Roosevelt suspended the gold standard in 1933, a move which is widely credited with helping the country climb out of the Depression.
