The Department of Government Efficiency is a proposed United States presidential advisory commission announced by Donald Trump.
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have been named as key figures in charge of the initiative.
They have directly discussed plans to eliminate entities such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through Executive Order.
During his 2023 campaign, Ramaswamy also proposed reducing the Federal Reserve's staff by 90% and introducing a commodity-backed currency modeled after the BRICS framework.

On May 8, the public will be able to purchase a digital currency backed by gold from Zimbabwe's central bank.
Additionally, RBZ introduced smaller gold coins in weights of tenths of an ounce, quarters of an ounce, and half of an ounce.
The smallest coin weighs just over 3.11 grams and costs US$188.48 or its equivalent in local currency at the interbank rate.

Egypt to trade in local currencies with BRICS

Egypt will abandon the US dollar, establishing trade with BRICS countries in local currencies. Egypt has announced that they are ditching the US dollar in their trade with China, Russia, and India.
"Nothing of the sort has been implemented but there are discussions so that we can trade in local currencies of countries like India, Russia or China," Egyptian Supply Minister Ali Moselhy told Reuters.
Last year, Egypt formally applied to join BRICS and the SCO.
