China is closer to the gold standard
Update from November 1st:China Securities Index Co launched two gold-linked stock indices to cash in on surging demand for exposure to the safe-haven metal.
The new indexes include shares of global gold miners such as Newmont Corporation and Barrick Gold.
In response to Western responses to military conflicts, Chinese government-affiliated researchers are considering several strategies for China.
One is the issuance of gold-denominated bonds, supported by gold reserves, which would bolster economic resilience and establish China as a stable global player.
Another approach involves creating a global network of Chinese companies to diversify trade relationships and reduce vulnerability to sanctions.
Additionally, seizing American assets within China is seen as a retaliatory measure to protect Chinese interests and discourage unilateral actions by the U.S.
These strategies reported through Reuters collectively aim to ensure China's economic stability and global influence in an evolving geopolitical landscape.
Zimbabwe to back its currency with gold
Update: The IMF urged Zimbabwe to expedite currency reforms during a recent staff visit, emphasizing a move towards a market-driven exchange rate and the removal of existing distortions.Zimbabwe's Finance Minister announced new measures to stabilize its local currency in an online press briefing held Monday.
Zimbabwe to back its currency with hard assets such as gold to end exchange-rate instability, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said.
"The idea going forward is to make sure that we manage the growth of liquidity which has a high correlation to money supply growth and inflation.
The way to do that is to link the exchange rate to some hard asset such as gold," said Ncube.
He also announced a conference of African ministers that Zimbabwe will host at the end of this month.
Satellites transferred to Space Force by October
While the Democrats in Congress are Trying to Abolish the Space Force, The chief of Space Operations announced the transfer of Army and Navy satellite communications billets, funding, and mission responsibility to the U.S. Space Force. At the beginning of October, some of the satellite communications responsibilities of the US Army and US Navy will officially transfer to the hands of Space Force DoD.
The move puts basically all of the DODs narrowband, wideband, and protected SATCOM under control of the U.S. Space Force.
Now all of that training, operations, acquisition, and sustainment and follow-on activities, user allocations - all of that, will be consolidated under the Space Force to create that unity of effort, and hopefully gain the ability to be more resilient, more dynamic, and ultimately more efficient with that mission set.
