Russian president Vladimir Putin is discussing the idea of pegging the Ruble to gold And Commodities.
If approved this would directly link Russia's currency to gold bullion for the first time in more than a century.
Linking the ruble to bullion could give Russia more "sovereignty" over its financial system.
However, the governor of Russia's central bank, Elvira Nabiullina, told reporters the idea was "not being discussed in any way".

Gold has the historic value

Russia holds world's fifth-largest gold & foreign currency reserves.
Russia has reached a historic record in international reserves, ranking fifth in the world after China, Japan, Switzerland, and India, the Accounts Chamber said after an audit of the country's gold and foreign exchange holdings.
Gold proves its intrinsic value over time, as a hoard of Roman gold coins recovered from the seabed.
The horde was identified after two amateur free divers discovered coins in the bay of Portitxol in Xabia.

Putin Pledges an Equal and Indivisible Security System

Vladimir Putin has been inaugurated as President of Russia for his fourth term, adhering to the tradition at the Kremlin.
The ceremony highlighted Russia's commitment to dialogue with the West and emphasized the nation's security interests.
Putin reiterated the importance of equal footing in discussions and the pursuit of a multipolar world order.
His presidency will last until 2030.
"Together with our partners in Eurasian integration and other sovereign development centers, we will continue to work to form a multipolar world order, equal and indivisible security system," Putin said at the ceremony.

Bank Of England: Cash Is Trash

Last week the U.K. Bank of England raised interest rates to 1.75%.
This was meant to seem butch, but frankly 1.75% interest rates is historically the equivalent of zippo. The market didn't care much.
The 1 yen coin used to be gold, it is now aluminum.
The yen never recovered from its periods of inflation, but Japan's economy did and huge wealth was created, so in the end in periods of inflation, cash is trash.

Trump vows Greatness in the months ahead

Former President Donald Trump sent out an email blast after the Senate acquitted him on a 57-43 vote.
At one point in his statement, Trump says "Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun. In the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people. There has never been anything like it!"

I want to first thank my team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work upholding justice and defending truth.
My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country.
Our cherished Constitutional Republic was founded on the impartial rule of law, the indispensable safeguard for our liberties, our rights and our freedoms.
It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree. I always have, and always will, be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorably debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate.
This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country. No president has ever gone through anything like it, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget the almost 75 million people, the highest number ever for a sitting president, who voted for us just a few short months ago.
I also want to convey my gratitude to the millions of decent, hardworking, law-abiding, God-and-Country loving citizens who have bravely supported these important principles in these very difficult and challenging times.
Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun. In the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people. There has never been anything like it!
We have so much work ahead of us, and soon we will emerge with a vision for a bright, radiant, and limitless American future.
Together there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
