Treating gold and silver as money

42 states have removed some or all taxes from the purchase of gold and silver.
And there are new bills pending now in five of the eight remaining states, i.e. Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Hawaii, and New Jersey.
In 2019, the Sound Money Defense League teamed up with sound money advocates in West Virginia to eliminate sales taxes on precious metals.
A similar effort will be considered in Olympia, Washington.
Passage into law would relieve some of the tax burdens on investors, and would also take a step toward treating gold and silver as money instead of as commodities.
Repealing these taxes knocks down one barrier that might keep some investors from considering physical metal for their portfolios.

During a congressional hearing, she was asked about dedollarization, to which she responded with her remarks.
The statements come amid global de-dollarization initiatives being undertaken by a number of nations, including the BRICS economic bloc.

Russia could ask for rubles or gold in exchange for energy. If that occurred Europe would have little choice. The real leverage in the Petrodollar system is on the 'petro' side.
It will be interesting to see how this develops. If energy payments begin moving outside of the SWIFT system, then the Petrodollar will be severely damaged.
Regardless, it's going to be disruptive and we're going to see additional problems. Very likely we will see further money printing and more stagflation.
The United States' attempts to simultaneously take on both Russia and China is a bad idea. We're forcing the two of them together while Europe is trying to play both sides. This situation will end with China and Russia gaining status.
Russian citizens have also been buying gold. This crisis will hurt their citizens, but this isn't Russia's first rodeo. The fact that Putin has done this either means he's lost his mind or he has a plan and found a window of opportunity.
We could see serious spillover effects on bonds and real yields.
The United States can't afford higher rates, and they can't remove Russia's oil without destroying their own markets.
We could see big changes should Russia use their gold as leverage. Possible scenarios that could occur should gold be revalued.

Satellites transferred to Space Force by October

While the Democrats in Congress are Trying to Abolish the Space Force, The chief of Space Operations announced the transfer of Army and Navy satellite communications billets, funding, and mission responsibility to the U.S. Space Force.
At the beginning of October, some of the satellite communications responsibilities of the US Army and US Navy will officially transfer to the hands of Space Force DoD.
The move puts basically all of the DODs narrowband, wideband, and protected SATCOM under control of the U.S. Space Force.
Now all of that training, operations, acquisition, and sustainment and follow-on activities, user allocations - all of that, will be consolidated under the Space Force to create that unity of effort, and hopefully gain the ability to be more resilient, more dynamic, and ultimately more efficient with that mission set.
